Hundreds of animals are being rescued from a Lake Hughes property Friday as authorities execute a search warrant at a local rescue facility.
Authorities were granted a search warrant for the property off Highway 140, finding 36 dogs and one cat locked in the home and living in unsanitary conditions.
At least 30 neglected dogs died in the Gustavus house they were hoarded in that caught fire this weekend. A dozen surviving dogs and five horses were also seized.
